We recently completed a custom built weekly calendar of food truck stops for a website featuring local events and things to do. The calendar made use of a WordPress custom post type for each food truck, where the client could add details about the truck and the scheduled stops for the upcoming week. Previously the client had to manage an HTML table each week, but the new approach used a custom field interface for easy updates. Visitors to the website arrive at the food truck schedule page of the website and the current day is automatically active on a tabbed panel. From there, they can browse today’s stops or click through the tabs for the other days to see where their favorite food trucks will be this week. If the visitor wants to see the schedule for a specific food truck, they can click over to view each truck’s individual page to learn more about them and see a list of all of their stops for the week.
